Brief operational guidance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>In a specific information note issued a few days ago, the British Government recalled that as of 1 January 2022, the new customs rules affecting the traffic of goods between the European Union and the United Kingdom will be in force, fully implementing BREXIT.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Transport companies involved in goods traffic between the EU and Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales), in order to continue with these traffic relations, without problems when crossing the borders, by ferry or shuttle, and within the framework of customs controls, have the obligation to register, as soon as possible and in advance, with the G.V.M.S.-Goods Vehicle Movement Service. The GVMS system has been designed to enable fast and efficient movement of goods and will be used by many UK ports.From 1 January, if you\u2019re not registered and attempt to move goods through a GVMS port, you won\u2019t be able to:<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:list -->\n<ul><li>board the ferry or shuttle,<\/li><li>cross the EU\/GB border, and<\/li><li>clear your goods through customs.<\/li><\/ul>\n<!-- \/wp:list -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>To find out which UK ports use GVMS, go to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/list-of-ports-using-the-goods-vehicle-movement-service\">gov.uk\/goods-vehicle-movement-ports<\/a><\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} -->\n<h3>Who needs to register?<\/h3>\n<!-- \/wp:heading -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>You need to register for GVMS if you\u2019re a UK or non-UK based haulier.
